The Pakistani batting stability is the key to success in ODIs, says Aakash Chopra

Kash Chopra believes that Pakistan's ODI success can be attributed to the stable batting unit that contributes to the success of the team.

There is no doubt that Pakistan's batting line-up is one of the most formidable in the world.

India and Pakistan are finding it increasingly difficult to score runs in white ball cricket against each other as the game has become more competitive.

A major reason for Pakistan's increased success in ODI matches has been the steadiness of the batting unit of the team, according to Chopra.

Azam's squad is ranked first in one-day international cricket ahead of their match against India for the Asia Cup 2023, which will be played later today in Kandy, Sri Lanka, under the leadership of Babar Azam.

The batting unit of Pakistan has proved to be stable rather than volatile despite Pakistan's aggressive bowling style. In my opinion, this is the main reason why they have become one of the best teams in the world," Chopra wrote on X.

In the batting department, Shadab (batting at 7-8) and Nawaz (batting at 7-8) make up a potent combination. It has been many years since India and Pakistan played white-ball cricket together, but there has been a noticeable narrowing of the gap between them," he said.

As Chopra pointed out, India also wasn't completely prepared for the major match as he acknowledged as well.

It's safe to say that India is headed into this tournament a little undercooked...especially in its first game of the tournament. Iyer is making a comeback after being injured a few months ago. As a result, Ishan batted out of position in Ishan's case. As far as Bumrah is concerned, it has been quite some time since he played an ODI. It has been over a month since Rohit-Virat last played a competitive game against each other. There is a possibility that the pace trio of Bumrah-Shami-Siraj might be a better option, but the batting then ends at number seven, when this happens. I think it will be tough to pick today's XI - Axar, Shardul, Siraj, or Shima. The man replied, "That's right, sir.".

A 238-run win over Nepal on Wednesday gave Pakistan a good start in the Asia Cup 2023 as they are off to a great start. In their first match in the tournament, the Indian team will be up against one of their traditional rivals, Pakistan.

As far as the Asia Cup (ODI) is concerned, India holds an advantage of 7-2 over Pakistan in its history. Five of Pakistan's matches have been won, and one match has been lost.

It has also been problematic for India to compete in the Asia Cup recently, with four of the last five games being lost to Pakistan. The last time they played India was in Mirpur in 2014. It was Afridi's two consecutive sixes in the final over that enabled him to defeat Ravichandran Ashwin by eight runs.

In 2023, the Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The competition will run from August 30 to September 17 and will be co-organized by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. On this occasion, Pakistan will be hosting four matches alongside Sri Lanka, who will host nine, including the final, during their turn to host.

The teams in Group B of the Asia Cup 2023 are Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka, while the teams in Group A are Pakistan, Nepal, and India. There will be a total of two teams from each group who will advance to the Super 4 round of the competition.
