PTI chief accused of buying gifts worth 20% in Toshakhana case

The PTI (Protection of the Insaf) chief bought gifts from Toshakhana by paying 20 percent of the sale price for them, according to Amjad Pervaiz, the lawyer from the ECP.

His arguments in support of Toshakhana were based on the statement that Rs107 million worth of gifts were purchased for 20% less than what they were initially purchased for when he presented his arguments in defense of the former prime minister

It was in this case that Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawal presided over the proceedings. The PTI leader's lawyer was also present in court in addition to Niazullah Niazi and his representative. Niazullah Niazi told the Supreme Court and the High Court that they should delay hearing the cases until the Supreme Court and High Court issue their orders. It was up to Khawaja Haris whether he presented his arguments or whether the ECP presented its argument, and that would be up to him to decide what he should argue. In the opinion of Niazullah, it is highly likely that the case will be decided by the NAB, SC, and high courts in the near future.

The ECP's counsel, Amjad Parvez, said he had no concern about the admissibility of the suspect's documents since, as he said, he had submitted all the documents on his own. Neither did the suspect deny receiving gifts from Toshakhana, nor did he confirm that such gifts were received.

As per the council, Toshakhana gifts were taken from the suspect in the case. 58 gifts were presented to him and his wife by the former Prime Minister and First Lady according to him. In total, he told me, 14 gifts, each worth more than Rs30,000, had been given to him. They claim to have bought four gifts worth Rs21,664,600 according to their claim.

Despite the prosecution presenting evidence that the gifts were worth Rs107 million, Amjad Parvez mentioned that there was no evidence presented by the prosecution as to the value of the gifts.

A watch, cufflinks, a watch and ring, Rolex watches, and iPhones were among the gifts accepted, and all the gifts, including the watches, the cufflinks, the watches, and the rings were payable at a percentage of 20 percent for 2018-19.

There was a report that all the jewelry gifts were given to the Prime Minister's wife. As can be seen, there was nothing written in the jewelry column of Form B. This is because Form B does not describe valuable items. In line with the suspect's list, the information here is being provided to the court on the basis of a report he sent.

In the statement of 342, it was acknowledged that those gifts were purchased for Rs 21.5 million by the ECP lawyer. According to him, the gifts were worth Rs107 million and were purchased for Rs21 million.

They claimed outside of court that they purchased their gifts for 50% of their rates at Tosha Khana when they purchased their gifts based on the 10% discount they received from Tosha Khana when they purchased their gifts at the time.

An election commission lawyer told the news agency the commission is able to get discounts on gifts worth Rs107 million for 20 percent off.

His statement on Form B indicated that there were no jewelry items listed. Considering out loud his question, "If a necklace, pendant, bracelet, or earring is not jewelry, then what is?", he wondered.

This is something that the expert representing the accused is able to explain exactly in plain language what these things mean to you, he told me.
