Located in Islamabad Capital Territory, this sector is divided into four zones whose boundaries are 33°41′28.95′′N 72°58′27.65′′E. Babu Lal-Muhammad Chughtai was the architect of the project, and the building was designed in an Islamic style according to the architect's vision.

The Shrine of Meher Ali Shah is a Sufi shrine from the early 20th century, which serves as a place of rest for the tomb of Peer Meher Ali Shah, a Chisti Sufi scholar in the early 20th century,[1] who was also considered a leader of the anti-Ahmadiya movement. As a matter of fact, the shrine is located within Islamabad Capital Territory, in the village of Golra Sharif.

There is a controversy going on regarding Naseer Uddin Naseer Gilani, who is one of the custodians of Golra Sharif (Sajjada Naashin). Peer Syed Shah Abdul Haq Gilani, the younger son of Babuji, served as the shrine's Sajjada nashin for a period of approximately 46 years (from 1974 to July 2020). There are currently two heirs of the Gilani family managing the shrine, Syed Ghulam Moinuddin and Syed Shah Abdul Haq Gilani.

The process of construction [edit]

The Peer Mehr Ali Shah died on 11 May 1937[7], and he was succeeded by Babuji in his place. There was almost a twenty year span between the construction of the mausoleum and its completion. During the construction of this project, marble was brought from the Makrana mines in Jodhpur for use in this project.
